Nike+ Fuelband released - 19 Jan 2012
Nike has announced the release of the new NIKE+ FuelBand. This innovative wristband tracks and measures everyday movement helping to motivate and inspire people to be more active. Activities can now be measured through a new metric called NikeFuel: the more active you are, the more NikeFuel you earn.

Brighton Half Marathon Full - 19 Nov 2011
Once again the Brighton Half Marathon has been fully subscribed well before the registration deadline. Popular with London Marathon applicants this race is invariably sold out ahead of time.

Geoffrey Mutai wins the ING New York City Marathon - 6 Nov 2011
Kenyan runner Geoffrey Mutai has won the New York marathon with a time of 2 hours, 5 minutes, 6 seconds, setting a new course record. The previous race best of 2:07:43 was set by Tesfaye Jifar of Ethiopia in 2001.

Jimmy Savile R.I.P. - 29 Oct 2011
Radio DJ, TV presenter and marathon runner Sir Jimmy Savile passed away 2 days short of his 85th birthday. Best known for his TV show Jim'll Fix It, Savile was a keen runner, running many marathons to raise funds for charity. Although an eccentric, Jimmy was outgoing and well-loved by the British people and will be deeply missed.

Run and Become, London to hold London Marathon workshops in March - 28 Feb 2011
Specialist running store Run and Become will be holding 3 London Marathon workshops this coming March in their store in Victoria, London. Workshops will focus on different aspects of marathon running for runners of all abilities taking part in London Marathon 2011.

Haile Gebrselassie reverses retirement decision - 28 Feb 2011
Ethiopian marathon runner, Haile Gebrselassie, has reversed his retirement from running. Only one week after declaring he was leaving the sport he has announced his comeback. His coach, Woldemeskel Kostre, has confirmed this stating that he expects Gebrselassie to continue running for a further 8 years.

The Gumpathon ends as soldiers reach California - Nov 11 2010
The six US and UK serevicemen running across America to raise money for injured soldiers completed their mission on Rememberence Day (UK)/Veteran's Day (US). Despite not reachng their fundraising goal, they raised thousands to help wounded soldiers. Find out more.

Boston Marathon registration will open on the 18 October at 9.00am - 13 Oct 2010
The next Boston Marathon, scheduled for 18 April 2011, will start accepting applications for registration exaclty 6 months prior to the race.

Sammy Wanjiru of Kenya, wins the Chicago Marathon - 10 Oct 2010
Wanjiru, who also won last year's race beat Tsegay Kebede of Ethiopia, champion of the London Marathon, finished the race with a time of 2:06:24. Find out more

Berlin Marathon and Oslo Marathon dates set for 2011 - 30 Sep 2010

Patrick Makau wins the Berlin Marathon - 26 Sep 2010
Kenyan runner, Patrick Makau won this year's Berlin Marathon, with a time of 2:05:08 finishing 2 seconds ahead of fellow Kenyan Geoffrey Mutai, with Bazu Worku from Ethiopia taking the other podium position a further 15 seconds behind. Find out more

Olympic Marathon to end at the Mall - 17 Sep 2010
