Start Time : 10:00am
Number of Places : 250

The Route
The Yorkshireman Off-Road Marathon starts and ends at New Westfield Farm, Upper Marsh, Oxenhope.

After leaving the farm, runners run along Lee Lane towards the nearby reservoir. From there they run one and a half miles to the first checkpoint next to the main road. The next four miles takes participants along tarmac, over a stream and across an open moor to checkpoint 2 at Withens Pub. The route continues across the countryside, passing checkpoint 3 near Gatehouse and the next stage marker at Houghgate. Runner are then directed to Brookhouse, past a golf course and Ogden Reservoir and dam, reaching the halfway mark at checkpoint 5 at the junction with the A629.

The inward 13.1 miles starts along a footpath to Denholme Beck. Then under a railway bridge to a reservoir, throught allotments and over a viaduct onto checkpoint 6. The route carries on through forest to checkpoint 7, across moorland to checkpoint 8 and through fields to Hainworth Village and checkpoint 9. Towards the final checkpoint, runners pass along Black Moor Road, past the nearby farmhouse, over the brook, under the railway bridge, past Marshend Farm and onto Penistone Hill. After passing the last checkpoint there isn't far to go - 1.2 miles. From checkpoint 10 runners head on, between the cricket field and quarry and onto the finish line.
