The London Half Marathon had its inaugural race in 2008. Despite bad weather and trasport problems it was a success and attracts up to 12,000 every year.

London Half Marathon Route
The route starts and finishes at The O2 arena. Runners make their way along the river, heading towards the Thames Barrier, passing Firepower - The Royal Artillery Museum, the Royal Artillery Barracks and Greenwich Park. Along the way there are 16 stages with musicians and bands playing music. A main stage is also located next to the start/finish line.

* Charity Places : Many charities offer places in the London Half Marathon. Official charities for the race include Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, The Stroke Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and Rainbow Trust Children's charity.
