Dundee Running Adventure Marathon

A multi-terrain marathon where runners follow a route round the city of Dundee, open to up to 300 runners. Unfortunately, it didn't take place in 2021 or 2022. However, it returned in 2023, accepting up to 750 entrants.

The route is a mixture of different terrains and has been described as rough and ready and unlike any other marathon in Scotland.

The race begins at Camperdown Park. The route then follows a clockwise course taking in the city's popular Green Circular cycleway. Runners pass through wooded areas, parkland and along a lengthy stretch the northern banks of the River Tay, over a mix of differing terrains, ending up at the finish line back at Camperdown Park.

The route, although not designed traditional competitive clock-watchers will make for an adventurous day out. With relay changeover points (at 8.5 and 17 miles), potential traffic-crossing hotspots and testing undulations it's unlikely you will finish with a personal best. However runners will enjoy any stops, providing an excuse for a momentary breather and chance to admire the fantastic view.
