The Beachy Head Marathon is a popular race. Having been voted one of the top ten marathons by runnersworld.co.uk it attracts a lot of interest.
1,750 places are available for runners. For local interst this would probably be more than enough. However every year there is such interest for
these places that the event will welcome runners from several other countries around the world.
Beachy Head Marathon Route
The marathon route crosses the East Sussex countryside providing a challenging, but scenic and journey through the South Downs countryside.
The race starts and ends at St Bedes School, King Edwards Parade, Eastbourne. On the outward half it makes its way past Willingdon Hill, through Westdean Forest,
past Longman Windover Hill and Bostal Hill before making the return stretch. After Cradle Hill and a return to Westdean Forest runners will come to
Beachy Head Road, with the finishing line in site. Then the exhileration and cheers of finishing.
