Vancouver International Marathon

The Vancouver International Marathon was first run in 1972. Tom Howard of Surrey, British Columbia ran five laps of Stanley Park with a small number of marathon runners to complete the first Vancouver International Marathon. Howard won with in a time of 2:24:35.

Vancouver Marathon Route
The Vancouver International Marathon is run on a paved spectator-friendly course.

Runners start from Queen Elizabeth Park, on Midlothian Avenue and finish at W Pender St between Bute & Thurlow. Much of the race is nex to the shoreline, passing Pacific Spirit Park, the University of British Columbia, Jericho Beach and English Bay on the way to the finish line.
