The Buenos Aires Marathon was first run in 1984 when it was won by Ruben Aguiar.

Buenos Aires Marathon Route
The route is flat and fast. It starts and finishes at Pres Av Figueroa Alcorta 7100 (and Monroe), passing through urban sections of Buenos Aires as well as lakeside and forest areas.

Participants enjoy many impressive sights along the route. This includes running past the stunning lakes and forests, the opulent Alvear street with some of the best hotels in the city, the financial district, the Government House, then past the Obelisk and through the tourist district of San Telmo. From there it's onto the River Plate soccer stadium, the colorful La Boca, and many more amazing sights before reaching the finish line at Figueroa Alcorta.
