The Boston Marathon, organized by Boston Athletic Association, is the longest running annual marathon. It is considered one of the world's five most significant marathons.

Boston Marathon Route
Runners follow a point-to-point race through the streets of Boston. Starting in the rural town of Hopkinton, the route takes them through various local communities, including Ashland, Framingham, Natick and Wellesley. The race continues on a predominantly flat course towards the centre of Boston, to the finish line at Copley Square.
