The Venice Marathon first took place in 1986. In now attracts considerable attention with participants including the likes of Joseph Lomala.

The organisers describe the Venice Marathon as spectacular, and they're not wrong.

The race starts in Stra, a small town a few kilometers east of Padova, in front of a magnificent mansion, Villa Pisani, built in the 18th century. From there it follows the N11 road, heading into the town centre. Runners then get to view the sights of this magnificent city, such as St. Mark's Square, as they pass over the 14 bridges. Runners are then directed towards the Gran Canal and finally onto the finish line at Riva dei Sette Martiri to be greeted by cheering crowds.

* Registration Deadline : 30 September
* Charity Places : Runners are advised to contact their chosen charity
* Other Information : Runners will be expected to finish within 6:00 hours.
