The Venice Marathon first took place in 1986. It is now an annual event, attracting thousands of runners every year.

The organisers describe the Venice Marathon as spectacular, and we agree.

The race is flat and fast. It starts in Stra, a small town west of Venice, in front of a magnificent mansion, Villa Pisani, built in the 18th century. From there it follows the N11 road, heading into the town centre. Runners then get to view the sights of this magnificent city, such as St. Mark's Square, as they pass over the 14 bridges. Runners are then directed towards the Gran Canal and finally onto the finish line at Riva Sette Martiri. to be greeted by cheering crowds.

* Entry fee : € 62 (entry 1 - 4,000), € 72 (entry 4,001 - 6,000), € 82 (entry 6,001 - 8,000)
* Registration Deadline : When the race is full.
