The Reykjavik Marathon is one race in a day of running events. Other races include the Reykjavik Half Marathon, 10K and 3K.

Reykjavik Marathon Route
The route is a loop, starting and finishing on Laekjargata, next to the Islands-banki. It is considered to be flat to undulating.

The course takes runners west out of the city center for about 3 km. It then turns east along the coast from where participants have a beautiful view of the mountains just north of Reykjavik. After the 15 km point, the course turns westward, winding through the city centre, back to Laekjargata and the finish line.
