The Madrid Marathon is considered, by many, to be the primary athletics event for the country, and receives much attention. It is currently known as the Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon.

Madrid Marathon Route
With challenging hills the Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon is a tough race for some. However it is receives many positive reviews.

Commonly the route is redrawn every year. As always, the Madrid Marathon takes in many of the fantastic sites of Madrid. Starting from Plaza de Gregorio Maranon, Marathon runners will be taken through the city centre, the old town and Madrid's residential areas, passing famous landmarks on the way, such as Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Palacio Real. Runners reach the finish line at Paseo de Recoletos.
