The inaugural Connemara International Marathon (or Connemarathon) was run in 2001. The event, also including a Connemara Half Marathon and Connemara Ultramarathon, has grown in popularity ever since.

Connemara Marathon Route
The Connemara Marathon is known for its stunning scenery, with a rugged landscape taking runners past stunning mountains and beautiful glacial lakes. The route is very hilly and will tire even the best runners, but the beautiful surroundings and friendly crowds are enough to win over any runner.
