Budapest International Marathon

The Budapest Marathon is enjoyed by thousands of single runners and relay teams of 3 or 5. Thousands more supporters come to cheer on these runners creating an atmosphere that rivals the likes of the London and Berlin Marathons.


Budapest International Marathon Route
The race begins in Heroes Square in the City Park. Runners then head down Andrassy Avenue, over the famous 'Chain bridge', and southwards along the embankments of the Danube. At the 10K mark the route crosses the Petofi Bridge onto the east bank. From there runners race northwards to Margaret Bridge and on to Margaret's Island and over Arpad Bridge to the west bank once more where they quckly reach the half way point

The last 13 miles. The route loops round, heading south along the west bank until runners again reach the Petofi Bridge. Back on the east bank, the race directs runners northwards to Kossuth Square. From there athletes are pointed eastwards past Nyugati Square, Allatkert Promenade and Heroes Square. Finally, runners pass along Paal Laszlo Street and onto Olof Palme Promenade where the reach the finish line and end of their fantastic journey.


Budapest Marathon Entry
* Individual Entry : 50 Euro until 31 July, 60 Euro until 28 September, 75 Euro until 5 October
* Team Entry (3 runners) : 80 Euro until 31 July, 100 Euro until 28 September, 110 Euro until 5 October
* Team Entry (5 runners) : 100 Euro until 31 July, 120 Euro until 28 September, 130 Euro until 5 October
* Registration Deadline : 5 October
* Charity Places : Runners are advised to contact their chosen charity
* Other Information : Runners will be expected to finish within 5:30 hours.
