The first Amsterdam Marathon was held on 3 May 1975, starting and finishing at the Olympic Stadium.

Amsterdam Marathon Route
The start and finish of the Amsterdam Marathon take place in the Olympic Stadium in front of the grandstand. Along the route runners pass through the city centre taking in many appealing sites. These include the Olympic Stadium, built in 1928, the Maritime Museum, nature reserves on each side of the river Amstel, the historic canals, Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark.

* Entry Fee : 55 EUR
* Registration Deadline : 19 September
* Charity Places : Runners are advised to contact their chosen charity
* Cut-off Time : Runners will be expected to finish within 6:30 hours.
