The Moray Marathon first took place in 1982, making it the longest running marathon in Scotland.
Moray Marathon Route
With sandy and rocky shores, rivers, lochs and mountainous areas to contend with, runners in the Moray Marathon experience a wide range of lanscapes.
The race follows a clockwise loop with the starting line in the Cooper Park in Elgin. The finish line is back in the Cooper Park, Elgin with 13th century Elgin Cathedral forming an outstanding backdrop.
