Luton Marathon

5 Dec 2010

Start Time : 10:00am
Number of Places : 1000 (800 for individuals, 200 for teams)

Last year's Luton Marathon was cancelled at the last minute due to a car crash on the route. Luckily it hasn't stopped this year's race from going ahead.

Luton Marathon Route
The Luton Marathon is a 3-lap, anti-clockwise race passing through Luton and the surrounding countryside. Despite two hills the race is very much flat-to-undulating, and so is not an overly tough race. It is often considered a good race for obtaining a PB.

The Marathon starts in the centre of Luton town. It then snakes out to the A6 and near coutryside, passing the Pasque Hospice en route. Runners then pass through the village of Streatly. Leaving Streatly, the race then continues along country roads until, after a further 3-4 miles, passes back into Luton town and towards the start/finish line. This lap is repeated twice more.

Luton Marathon Entry
* Unattached Runners : £21 (TBC)
* UK Athletics Affiliated Runners: £19 (TBC)
* Race Charities : The Luton Marathon supports the Pasque Charity, which includes the Keech Cottage Children's Hospice. The Pasque Charity offers both emotional and practical assistance to adults and children diagnosed with a life-limiting condition.
