The Shamrock Sportsfest Marathon is one of a series of races run over the weekend of 19-20 March. Other events include an 8k race and half marathon.

Shamrock Marathon Route
The route is flat and varied, making it flat and interesting. Becuase walkers and runners start together it is important to find a good postion near the front of the pack.

The race begins at Atlantic Avenue. Runners then head along Virginia Beach Oceanfront and through the beautiful Virginia Beach resort area (on flat paved roads). They then continue through Fort Story past the Cape Henry Lighthouse, America's oldest lighthouse. For the last 5 miles athletes run with the Atlantic to their left, along the boardwalk and over the finish line.

* Entry Fee: $80 (before 1 July), $90 (before 1 Oct), $100 (before 1 Jan), $110 (up to Race Weekend)
* Closing Date: 19 March
* Charity Places : Runners are advised to contact their chosen charity
* Other Information : Runners will be expected to finish within 6.30 hours.
