The final Gasparilla Marathon will be run in 2010. Strain on city resources in the current economic climate has forced organisers to make this race the last. The half marathon will continue and may be accompanied by a new 10K race.

Gasparilla Marathon Route
Runners start at Platt Street and Parker Street next to Publix Super Markets. They reach the finish line on the scenic Bayshore Boulevard; one of Tampas most beautiful and picturesque waterfront streets.

The Gasparilla Marathon is a flat and fast race, following Tampa's waterfront, showcasing many of the city's beautiful and historic neighbourhoods such as Riverfront Park, Ballast Point, Davis Islands, Downtown Tampa and Bayshore Boulevard.

Slow runners (not keeping at least a 16 minute mile pace) will be directed towards the half marathon.
